Polo CologneBecause perfume has a higher concentration of essential oils then cologne, perfume has 30% compared to cologne which has only about 8% by volume, it is considerably more expensive.  Cologne does not last as long as perfume either and has to be reapplied after 2 – 3 hours, and you also need to apply more cologne then perfume.

What I don’t understand is why we refer to women’s perfume and men’s cologne?  Take polo cologne for an example, depending on where you purchase this “cologne” you may pay $50.00 or more for a 4.2 oz bottle, and just a small amount needs to be applied and it doesn’t wear off in 2 – 3 hours.  So should we not be referring to such men’s cologne as men’s perfume?  Or does that sound to feminine?

Scent triggers memory

November 11, 2009

Polo CologneScience says that scents triggers memory.  So there is much more to wearing cologne then just smelling nice.  If you think about it, it is almost like wearing a scrapbook around your neck triggering memories of what you have been through, certain people that you may know or met at some point, or just reminding you of how you feel about life in general.

How true this is because whenever I smell Polo Cologne for men I am reminded of an old boy friend from high school.  I guess that goes to show not all memories triggered by a certain scent is such a great thing since I am now married.  I must admit that no matter how much I like the smell of polo cologne I do prefer that my husband does not wear it.

When it comes time for you to shop for perfume’s or cologne’s choose it because you like it and it also smells like you.
