Vitality Aromatherapy CandleI believe that people everywhere are thinking “green” and in turn we want to use anything that is all natural wherever and whenever we can.  This is one reason why we are more educated with the knowledge of essential oils.

There is a lot more to aromatherapy then just the aromatherapy candles.  Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years for healing and spiritual purposes, and this will only continue to get more popular the more we know and understand aromatherapy.

Take peppermint, it stimulates your nervous system and your body will in turn feel more energized.  Before you drink your coffee in the morning, first take a shower with citrus scented soap.  The citrus oils not only have a refreshing scent but can be very energizing, you may even feel you don’t really need that coffee after all.  The next time you have a headache try lavender essential oils, message oil on temples and forehead and see how much better you feel, you can even spray some on your pillow for a good night sleep.

Serenity Aromatherapy CandlesI have heard so much about aromatherapy candles, bath oils and the benefits of such, however, it wasn’t until just lately that I heard of color therapy.  Now my thinking is that if you were to combine aromatherapy with color therapy how much more would you benefit from this.

Here are a few examples of what I’m talking about.  Black provides self confidence, power and strength.  Green has a soothing, relaxing effect not only mentally but physically.  Yellow is for energy and improves your memory.  Red stimulates your brain wave activity and also excites your sexual glands.

Just imagine, you had a hard day at work, kids a little unruly, say you have painted your bathroom green so you run a hot bath, light some aromatherapy candles and you are well on your way to a much better evening.  Or say you have a really important job interview, wear your best black suit and you will appear more self confident.  I think there is really something to this stuff if you take the time to figure out how it will suit you best.

Aromatherapy Candles

Serenity Aromatherapy CandlesI love aromatherapy candles and I truly believe in how they work.  I will be the first person to steer anyone to the use of the candles, and have.  I have to admit though there is one thing that I have found that the candles, lavender for the relieve of stress, will not help.

So, I’m a hugh Michigan St. basketball fan, and I’m watching them play against Minnesota and they are losing.  The more the game goes the more they fall behind, no amount of candles, stress balls even yelling at the television helps in a case like that.  The good part about the game was in the last 2 minutes we came back and won the game.  Wow, it was a very stressful afternoon.

Vitality Aromatherapy CandleI have to admit that I love living in Michigan, I do sometimes complain about the weather in the winter only because I hate being cold.  However, where else can you live and get all the seasons as pretty as it is in Michigan.  One thing I love to do is to open my windows and let some fresh air into the house.  Can’t do that in the winter.

What I have always done is light candles, and I didn’t used to care what kind.  I have sense realized that by lighting aromatherapy candles not only does my house smell wonderful but I feel wonderful.  There are so many different kinds of aromatherapy candles to choose from depending on your mood.  Try it everyday and I promise it will uplift your spirits and you will feel great.

Mineral Bath SaltsWhat women doesn’t love bath mineral salts?  I know I sure do, the way you feel and smell after you have soaked in the tub and relaxed?  It is so refreshing.  Here is a great recipe for salts that I think you will like, and it also makes for a great gift.

In an air tight container, take 1 cup epsom salts 1/4 cup sea salts and 2-3 tablespoons baking soda, mix well, add to this your favorite essential oil, start with a few drops and check for the fragrance strength you desire then add several drops of whatever color food coloring you desire, place lid on container and shake vigorously until ingredients are throughly combined.

The proper way to add bath mineral salts to your tub is to pour into an empty tub under running water.  This will let the salts dissolve throughly, it is important to use warm water and not hot.  DO NOT pour into tub that is already full.  Soak and enjoy the scent it leaves on you and in the room.

Welcome year 2010

January 3, 2010

Vitality Aromatherapy CandleAs much as I love to see Christmas come, love to decorate my house with all the lights.  I really love the smell of the house while you are cooking pumpkin pie, apple pie and cookies with homemade bread, makes me want Christmas back just thinking about all that.  I really enjoy watching friends and family open their gifts, and of course opening my own.  My favorite gift this year was a basket of aromatherapy candles of different sizes and scents.  It was really great.

Now I’m happy to say that my house is totally back to normal, whatever that is, and everything is back in it’s own place.  I am really hopeful that the year 2010 holds lots of great surprises and tons of happiness for your family and mine.

bath-mineral-saltsMost people are well aware of the nutritional benefits of sodium, potassium and calcium. Each of these minerals is required by the body for dietary purposes, and they keep us healthy and functioning at peak condition. Still, the beneficial properties of minerals go far beyond the dietary realm. Bath mineral salts add therapeutic value to what would otherwise be a routine bathing experience.

Calcium is highly touted for increasing circulation and cleansing clogged pores. Sodium bolsters the immune system and binds together with water to alleviate dry skin. It also helps with the regular functions of cells – collecting nourishment and expunging waste materials. Potassium adds a vital boost of energy to the body; people who put on water weight are usually experiencing potassium deficiency.
