I have waited for the super bowl ever since the play offs began. I was excited to see who would be going and now that I know and the day is here I’m so pumped, hoping that the colts win. I’m having a few friends over to watch the game, no cooking, strickly finger foods and paper plates.
Getting ready for the game is taking more time than I thought. I have friends that smoke and that don’t smoke, so I have several aromatherapy candles to light all around the house, trust me when I say no matter who wins the game it will be a great time with family and friends.
So Valentines Day is right around the corner and I have never actually told my husband what I wanted for Valentines Day because I have always figured that it meant more coming from him. However, this year I’m going to have to slip a few hints, because lets face it chocolate only goes so far.
My idea of the perfect Valentines Day, start the day with breakfast in bed, next a small box of chocolate with one single carnation (red) and a small bottle of Red Door perfume that I can wear to dinner. Dinner will be at a very quite and exquisite restaurant so we can spend a nice romantic evening together. That would be perfect.
How many times have you wanted to go spend the day at the spa and just didn’t have the money or the time? I can think of several times but have not found the time to go. So I have to create my own spa day at home, which really isn’t hard. How great do you feel after you have just had a hair cut or just colored your hair? You feel like a whole new person, at least I do. So here is what I do to help myself feel better about me.
I draw a hot bath, after washing my hair with biolage shampoo I apply the biolage leave in conditioner, make sure to have bath salts in the water and a few lavender scented aromatherapy candles lite and I soak, soak and soak some. You can not beat the scent of biolage hair products. What a great feeling after a long day to end it like that.
Because perfume has a higher concentration of essential oils then cologne, perfume has 30% compared to cologne which has only about 8% by volume, it is considerably more expensive. Cologne does not last as long as perfume either and has to be reapplied after 2 - 3 hours, and you also need to apply more cologne then perfume.
What I don’t understand is why we refer to women’s perfume and men’s cologne? Take polo cologne for an example, depending on where you purchase this “cologne” you may pay $50.00 or more for a 4.2 oz bottle, and just a small amount needs to be applied and it doesn’t wear off in 2 - 3 hours. So should we not be referring to such men’s cologne as men’s perfume? Or does that sound to feminine?
I have heard so much about aromatherapy candles, bath oils and the benefits of such, however, it wasn’t until just lately that I heard of color therapy. Now my thinking is that if you were to combine aromatherapy with color therapy how much more would you benefit from this.
Here are a few examples of what I’m talking about. Black provides self confidence, power and strength. Green has a soothing, relaxing effect not only mentally but physically. Yellow is for energy and improves your memory. Red stimulates your brain wave activity and also excites your sexual glands.
Just imagine, you had a hard day at work, kids a little unruly, say you have painted your bathroom green so you run a hot bath, light some aromatherapy candles and you are well on your way to a much better evening. Or say you have a really important job interview, wear your best black suit and you will appear more self confident. I think there is really something to this stuff if you take the time to figure out how it will suit you best.
When you think about Valentines Day and your significant other do you ever have to stop and think about what you are going to do for them? Well I do, as a matter of fact it is almost as bad as Christmas because I want him to know how much I love him.
In the past I have bought him chocolate and different kinds of men’s designer cologne, but I wonder why it would be so bad to buy him flowers? He always buys me flowers or chocolate or just a really sweet card, would it be so bad for a woman to buy her man flowers and a card to let him know how much he is loved? I really do wonder!
Have you ever noticed that the majority of the women you run into wear makeup? So, stop and try to remember how many of these women really know how to apply their makeup? I have taken notice lately and I have to say alot of them wear it to thick or maybe to light or some just need to change the makeup that they use.
I have found that clinique makeup carries the best line of makeup for my skin type, which is rather oily. The biggest mistake that I see women make is the way that they blend their makeup. Some don’t, that is the first thing that I notice when I put on my makeup, it is not necessary for people to know you are wearing it because they see the line where your makeup stops, blend it in, that way we know your wearing it because it looks natural. I can’t say it enough, blend, blend and blend.
I have to admit, probably along with many other women, how I love a man that smells good. It doesn’t really even matter what the man looks like, it is just the cologne that he wears. It makes all the difference in the world as far as a first impression.
I met a Dr. not to long ago, that as far as looks go, I was not impressed at all, however, when I got closer to him I could smell his cool water cologne, and it was almost like I saw a totally different man. A man that I used to date wears cool water and now every time I smell it not only do I love the scent, but it brings back memories that I would not have thought of otherwise.
I love aromatherapy candles and I truly believe in how they work. I will be the first person to steer anyone to the use of the candles, and have. I have to admit though there is one thing that I have found that the candles, lavender for the relieve of stress, will not help.
So, I’m a hugh Michigan St. basketball fan, and I’m watching them play against Minnesota and they are losing. The more the game goes the more they fall behind, no amount of candles, stress balls even yelling at the television helps in a case like that. The good part about the game was in the last 2 minutes we came back and won the game. Wow, it was a very stressful afternoon.
My husband and my grand kids are probably closer then any grandpa and grandson’s I know, they think the world of their grandpa and it is so great to watch them together. My grandson’s are 5 and 7 and like any other kids their age they are like little video recorders, I swear they soak everything up like a sponge.
A few weeks ago my husband and I were getting ready to go shopping, when John was all ready to go the oldest asked why grandpa smelled so good, I told him it was because of the men’s cologne grandpa was wearing. Needless to say while we were shopping grandpa had to buy the boys some cologne. Its kinda cute, because the kids don’t call it men’s cologne they call it man spray.
